4. Products, Online Courses And Services Selling

Don’t just want to depend upon ads to make money blogging? Then why not focus on product selling? Let it be your products such as eBooks, videos, themes, plugins or someone else’s affiliate products. If your audience finds value in the products you promote, they will buy what you offer. I know this method of earning from blog other than AdSense is not for all, but if you have the skills and efforts you can make high amount of money without relying on Adsense or other ad networks. This way you earn 100% of what you deserve!
You can use Amazon, ClickBank, LinkShare, eBay, Commission Junction, etc. type of networks, who have the proper affiliate programs in place.
And if you are good in web designing, web development, SEO or content writing etc., you can sell them as services to your audience. But your website content should match with your services. Here are few tips to consider while creating an online course that is, of course, the best AdSense alternative in 2018 and beyond.
  • Always test the waters before even launching a premium online course. Don’t spend most of your time or money, spend time on validating your product idea first. Send an email to all the potential buyers about the launch of your upcoming online course and pre-sell them for a lower cost. If you get 5% conversion rates, five people are buying out of 100, you can start working on your final product or else consider working on another idea.
  • Stop searching for Google AdSense alternatives and start focusing on growing your email list and give it your #1 focus. Only by having a hungry email list, you can make more sales from your online courses.
  • Read and analyze all the other sites that are offering online courses. Check out how they are pricing their courses and what they are offering. It gives you a better idea of what to consider when launching your own course.

5. Paid Review Websites: AdSense alternatives in India

Want to use the most useful Google AdSense alternative? Try publishing product reviews that pay you money. One of the most common ways most bloggers make money from their blogs is through publishing different product reviews on their sites. There are so many product companies out there, be it plugin developers or web hosting providers; they offer the good amount of commission which ranges from $20 to $1000 (depends on the popularity of your blog) when you publish their reviews.
You can make some extra money from your blog by writing paid reviews on your blog. Mostly paid review sites do accept websites and blogs with decent popularity, traffic and domain authority into their marketplace. Some popular paid review sites you can try are Sponsored Reviews, Review Me, LinkWorth and Blogsvertise.
Focus on writing in-depth reviews for each and every product you promote through your blogs. Give your readers top priority while writing product reviews, also don’t write too many product reviews as it can look like a selling blog that offers nothing but promoting too many products. Earning from reviews earns me at least $1000 per month and this is the reason why I don’t focus on AdSense.

Final Thoughts About the Best Google AdSense Alternatives 2018

As you can see in the post, there are so many Google AdSense alternatives available to make money online in 2018. The primary key factor in making money from these alternatives is that you need to drive decent traffic to your websites from search engines.
Although AdSense is considered as one of the best income sources for most bloggers, it is still not the recommended income source in my opinion. There are lot better alternatives to AdSense that pay you more with the same level of traffic. My main motive behind listing out the Google AdSense alternatives is to help you make more money with the current traffic you have.
These ad programs are not only similar to AdSense, they can bring you money from niches that AdSense doesn’t support (or gives less earnings) like low traffic sites, sites with adult content etc.
Without the help of organic traffic, it’s hard for anyone to make money from AdSense alternatives. The more traffic you get, the more clicks you can generate and the more clicks you get, the more money you can make from these AdSesne alternatives.
Try to blog consistently with good content to increase your organic traffic, also build natural backlinks using guest posting, blog commenting, etc. to increase your overall search rankings.
I would like to know which networks you are using to make money online from your websites and blogs and also share your thoughts about different Google AdSense Alternatives, which are shared in the comments section.

Note: I am continually updating this list with all the new monetization methods that I use as an AdSense alternative. So bookmark this page and keep coming back to learn about more new blog monetization programs.
Media.net

Media.net is the best alternative to AdSense in terms of ad types.
Media.net is a contextual ad network by Yahoo! and Bing, and it offers high-paying ads. Moreover, the ad types involved are similar to AdSense, and if you have a quality blog, you are more likely to get Media.net approval in no time.
You can check out the review of Media.net here and create a free account here.
PropellerAds:

PropellerAds is one of the top performing ad network and something I love because of their technology innovation. Apart from all usual ad types, recently they added web push notifications ad type.
Depending upon kind of blog that you have, you can pick from various ad types offered by PropellerAds. Be it for your desktop site, mobile site or for video content.  Minimum payout is $25 and it’s idle for every new and medium size blogs with low or high traffic.

This is a good alternative to AdSense which pays really high.

Make Money with Amazon Native Shopping Ads
Seeing an Amazon advertisement program listed as an “AdSense alternative” might be a little surprise for many, but in 2018 they are one of the most popular choices among bloggers for site monetization.
Until recently, it was only the Amazon Affiliate program, but with Amazon Native Shopping Ads & CPM based ads, they are a great choice for users who are looking for something other than AdSense.
In my opinion, the Amazon display program is ideal for those who have US & EU traffic. Native Ads in particular is a bit like affiliate marketing on steroids.
You can learn all about it here.
Adversal
Adversal contextual ads
Adversal offers features similar to Superlinks, but you need to have monthly page-views of 50,000 to apply.
Minimum payout is $20, and after 35 days, you get paid at the end of the month.
Payment modes are PayPal, wire transfer, and ACH. It takes 3-4 days to get your application approved.
I suggest that you apply for both Superlinks and Adversal. Superlinks ads will pay more, but it is also good to have another alternative option.
Apply for Adversal
Viglink
Viglink AdSense alternative
Viglink is perfect for a blog which is linking out to a business or e-commerce site.
The Viglink concept is quite different from all of the alternatives mentioned above because with Viglink you earn money by making affiliate sales.
Viglink works great when you have outgoing links to business or product pages such as a fashion store or Amazon.

Even if you don’t have outbound links but you are using money-related terms like Apple, iPhone, etc., Viglink will automatically add links to these words, and you will end up making pretty decent money.
What’s best about Viglink is that it’s incubated by Google and is a very SEO-friendly ad program.
Sign up for Viglink
Skimlinks
skimlinks ads dashboard
Skimlinks is the best alternative to Viglink and it works in a similar manner.  Skimlinks converts your outbound links into affiliate links, and you earn money whenever a sale occurs.
It is possible that you could end up making ten times your existing earnings with Viglink and Skimlinks, as they pay for affiliate sales and not for clicks.
Create Free account on Skimlinks

These are just some of the best and most popular alternatives to AdSense.
If your AdSense account is disabled, the best way to cover the lost AdSense earnings potential is by using a combination of two or more ad networks. (For example: using Media.net or Viglink along with contextual ads.)
Which one of the above methods have you used and which ad program worked the best?  Tell us in the comments!

8 Best Amazon Affiliate Plugins for Amazon Associates Members 2021

If you’ve heard of this little old eCommerce store named Amazon, then you might also know that Amazon has what is likely the largest affiliate program in the world. Beyond selling tons of products, it also has some peculiarities with rules and store localization that make it different from many of the other affiliate programs out there.
For example, we use Thirsty Affiliates on WPLift and recommend it as a great tool to cloak affiliate links but…Amazon doesn’t allow affiliate link cloaking. So even though Thirsty Affiliates is a great overall affiliate plugin, it’s not a great Amazon affiliate plugin.
For that reason, I thought it would be helpful to create a list comprised specifically of the best Amazon affiliate WordPress plugins. These will help you insert Amazon affiliate links (and localize them) and images without running afoul of Amazon’s strict affiliate policies.
Some can even help you import products into a WooCommerce store, if you want to go that route.
Let’s jump in…

1. EasyAzon

best amazon affiliate plugins easyazon
EasyAzon is one of the most popular Amazon affiliate plugins out there.
The plugin aims to make it easier and quicker for you to create and insert Amazon affiliate links into your site, plus a bunch of other helpful features for Amazon affiliates.
With EasyAzon, you can create links directly from the WordPress Editor – no need to ever step foot on Amazon’s site. You can also insert images the same way, which is great because of the murkiness over whether or not you’re allowed to upload Amazon’s product pictures to your own website.
Beyond that, EasyAzon also includes a neat feature that lets readers add a product to their cart straight from your website. I didn’t know this, but apparently that extends the commissionable time period to 90 days (for that item).
Finally, EasyAzon can localize your Amazon links so that visitors go straight to their local Amazon store website.
EasyAzon does come in a basic free version that lets you add text affiliate links from the WordPress Editor, but you’ll need the Pro version to get most of the features that I listed above.
The pro version starts at $47 for unlimited use on personal websites.

2. Amazon Affiliate for WordPress

Oli actually already reviewed Amazon Affiliate for WordPress, but let me go ahead and share it again in case you’re not familiar.
Like EasyAzon, Amazon Affiliate for WordPress helps you easily insert and localize Amazon affiliate products into your site without leaving WordPress.
But it also goes way further than that, the plugin can also help you:
  • Automatically update prices via API so that you can display real prices on your site without violating the Amazon Associates terms about out-of-date pricing
  • Easily create product comparison tables for different Amazon products without needing to manually enter information
  • Create automated bestseller lists and new releases
I encourage you to read Oli’s review if you want to learn more about this plugin – it’s pretty dang powerful!
Amazon Affiliate for WordPress is a premium plugin that starts at €39 for a single site license.

3. Amazon Link Engine / Geniuslink

Amazon Link Engine is Geniuslink’s WordPress plugin. If you’re not familiar with Geniuslink, it’s basically a link localization service that makes sure Amazon links are always localized.
So why is Geniuslink better than the other Amazon affiliate plugins that offer link localization?
Because it localizes links based on more than just product ID. Product ID alone can fail sometimes, but Geniuslink tries to always return a properly localized product, even if the product IDs don’t match.
Just be aware – while the plugin itself is free, you will need a paid Geniuslink account to use most of the features. Paid accounts start at $9 per month depending on the number of clicks you need Geniuslink to handle.

4. WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates

WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates makes it easy for you to import Amazon affiliate products into your WooCommerce store. With the associated WooZone ASIN Grabber, you can build product lists while browsing Amazon’s website. Then, you can import all those products that you curate into your WooCommerce store with just a few clicks.
Once in your store, the plugin localizes the Add to Cart button so that visitors can add the product at their local store. And it also checks stock availability for each country, which is a nice feature.
It also supports product and price variations, as well as a nifty content spinner tool to generate unique product descriptions. Personally, I’m not a big fan of content spinning, but I know it’s a popular approach.
The plugin offers a number of other smaller features, so make sure that you read the full product description if you’re intrigued.
WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates costs $42 at Code Canyon.

5. Amazon Associates Link Builder

First off, let me say that a ton of people hate this plugin…but it is the official Amazon Associates affiliate plugin, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t put it on this list. Still – keep in mind that it has a dismal 2.9-star rating at the WordPress.org plugin directory.
Amazon Associates Link Builder lets you search for products from inside WordPress and add those products to your sites via a variety of pre-made templates.
I personally wouldn’t recommend it because the interface is horrible. But if you want to use the official Amazon Associates plugin…here it is.

6. Amazon eStore Affiliates Plugin

Like WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates, Amazon eStore Affiliates Plugin helps you import Amazon affiliate products into your WooCommerce store.
You import the products, then visitors can automatically add them to their Amazon cart right from your store.
You can also grab product variations, prices, and spin product descriptions.
Again like WooCommerce Amazon Affiliates, Amazon eStore Affiliates Plugin is a premium plugin that’s available for $49 at Code Canyon.

7. Amazon Auto Links

Amazon Auto Links is a free plugin that gives you shortcodes (and a shortcode builder) that you can use to generate Amazon product lists. It also has a tool to automatically insert ads in a specific part of your site.
You can either insert specific products or lists based on categories and search codes.
There are also a ton of parameters to define image sizes, localization, link style, and more. And you can also set up your own custom buttons if you’d like.
It’s not quite as polished as the premium Amazon affiliate plugins but it’s also…free. Tough to argue with that.

8. Amazon Link Localization by BestAzon

BestAzon is an Amazon Associates link localization service. Once you install the plugin, it will automatically “globalize” every Amazon link on your site.
The plugin itself is free but, like Geniuslink, you’ll need a paid BestAzon plan to actually localize your links via the plugin. That plan starts at $6 per month. You can also donate 3% of your clicks to charity if you’d rather not pay the monthly fee.

Amazon Affiliate Marketing
Amazon.com and WordPress
The most efficient free way to go about this is to let other bloggers who write similar topics know about yours, and you can also participate in online communities and discussion forums where you can discuss your topic with other people.

Useful Tips to Get You Started

  1. It is important for you to learn some basic HTML as well as basic concepts pertaining to running a website. It’s not really tedious to understand and within a short period, you will have a grasp of it. Relying on purchased software might backfire because it might not give you what you really need and when things go wrong you will end up spending more than you ought to. Take time to learn these things and you won’t regret it.
  2. If you are a music lover, it would be a good idea to promote it over books and even other products. All you need to do is listen to clips of a full album within a short period, say 10 minutes, get a good feel of it without you purchasing it and do a short review. If there is another niche you are passionate about, make sure you get a unique discovery about it. Of course, there are hundreds of thousands of reviews about these products all over the web but you need to make yours more unique to attract people to your site.
  3. If you want to make even more money, sign up for Google AdSense. Although, it might not make too much income but it’s worth it since it is free to sign up and doesn’t require anything to maintain.
  4. Set good expectations for your earnings. Since you must have invested $20 and you are going to make 5% per product, it means you need to sell $400 worth of products to make your investment back. If you want to make $20 per hour, what you write on must generate $400 worth of product purchased.

How to increase sales in Amazon Affiliate Marketing

(1.) Post links regularly to optimize your earnings

This requires you to discover creative ways you can incorporate product recommendations into your posts on your blog while still creating the impression that you are offering your readers expertise on the subject.
It should be noted that the links to the affiliate program Amazon provides are active for 24 hours after it is clicked by a potential buyer meaning that they expire after 24 hours with fresh links providing the opportunity to earn money.

(2.) Build links for several kinds of products over time

You get paid an advertising fee by Amazon on the whole purchase made and not just the product advertised. This means you need to make sure people use their link on Amazon so they can make the full purchase they wanted to make using your referral link.

(3.) You can use your referral link to send information via email or to family members

You earn commission on anybody’s purchase, except yours, if they use your referral link within 24 hours. One tip here is that you can trade referral links with family members and friends and use their link to make your own purchases and ask them to do the same so there can be sharing of the spoils. This might not be the major way to make money in the affiliate program Amazon runs, but it can help your commission structure.
Digital Marketing Course by Digital Vidya

(4.) Add widgets to your site

There are widgets and online stores of the Amazon Associates program that can be added to your website templates. Make sure you list various recommended products in your sidebar.

(5.) Promote products worth $100 and above

Products that are higher in price would give you a higher commission. Therefore make sure you recommend such products.

(6.) Use lists

Make a recommendation list monthly on a new topic because they are valuable to your readers and potential customers.

(7.) Use Amazon Associate links to post seasonal content

Obviously, around Christmas period, people tend to buy more, therefore, post recommended products before this period to take advantage of sales that will go on on Amazon affiliate marketing. It is better to start creating a seasonal schedule for your blog posts early enough. There are several holidays, so you can plan ahead of them to make more sales and earn your commission.

(8.) Optimize your website or blog

Run an SEO analysis on your site to know what adjustments to make in order to improve its coverage.
Amazon Affiliate Marketing is a very good way to make money if you are serious about it. With the necessary knowledge, skills, dedication and right attitude, you are bound to make such money in no time!

Why Google AdSense is the Best Advertising Program for Your Blog in 2021

One of the best ways to make money online via blogging is by displaying advertisements on your blog. There are many ad networks available such as AdSense, Chitika, VigLink, Infolinks and many others. Obviously, we can’t clutter our blogs with too many ads, so we need to choose the best and most effective program available for the purpose of making money from our blogs.
AdSense is a product from Google that allows us to show contextual ads on a blog. It’s one of the best monetization ad networks available for any website, and people are making thousands of dollars every day using only Google AdSense.

What are the benefits of using AdSense?

One of the direct benefits of AdSense is the fact that it is a legitimate advertisement program by Google. Before I go into further detail, please watch this video:

Subscribe on Youtube

When we talk about making money from a blog, the easiest method of doing so is to put AdSense on your blog and start writing content.
When people click on the AdSense ads posted on your blog, you will earn money. (Remember to avoid clicking on your own ads, as this is a violation of AdSense policies.)
AdSense is a contextual ad network, which means that ads will be displayed according to your content. For example, if you are writing a post on web hosting, you are more likely to see ads related to hosting or domains.
Another way AdSense shows ads is by using the cookie method. Based on user search history, they display targeted ads which convert better.
In short, AdSense makes sure that readers will see targeted ads, and thus you will get more clicks and higher payouts than you will with any other ad network.

Why Google AdSense over other ad networks?

Easy to set up :
Once you have an approved AdSense account, all you need to do is add a code to your theme file, and advertisements will start running on your blog.
Here is a complete guide on how to create and set up an AdSense account.
AdSense means recognition:
AdSense is one of the most highly rated and recognized advertisement programs available. However, AdSense does not approve all types of blogs, and they are especially likely to reject blogs which are still in need improvement.
Once you have AdSense running on your blog, it means that your blog has been authorized. (This may not be true in all cases.)
One account for all sites :
With most ad networks, you need to add all of your sites manually, and upon approval of each individual site, you can place ads on that site. With AdSense, however, once you have an approved AdSense account, you can put ads on any website which complies with the AdSense terms of service. There is no need to set up different accounts for different blogs. You can also use your custom channel to see how your ad slots are performing.
Support forum:
Unlike other advertisement programs, AdSense has a wide range of advertisers and publishers. AdSense also has a support forum, and you will find lots of tutorials on how to increase your AdSense revenue.
Payment:
The major problem you will face with small advertising companies is the issue of payment. Despite meeting the minimum payout limit, you may have difficulty getting your payment. Furthermore, if you do some research, you will come to realize how many of these companies are fraudulent. AdSense, on the other hand, is very transparent in terms of payment, and you are unlikely to face any issues obtaining your payment from AdSense.
No doubt Google AdSense is one of the best programs for making money online with a blog.  However, for business sites I would suggest saying no to AdSense.
If you have just started using AdSense, I suggest that you install the AdSense Chrome add-on, which will help you to quickly track your AdSense earnings.
There could be many other reasons for selecting AdSense as your advertising network of choice. Use the comments section below to let us know what made you choose AdSense over other advertising networks.

Make Money with Google AdSense in 2021

Google AdSense is a contextual advertising program that allows you to run ads on your website or blog, or YouTube videos, and get paid when when visitors click on them. The ads are generated from businesses that use Google's AdWords program.

Pros and Cons to Making Money with Google AdSense

The Google AdSense program has several great advantages including:
  • It's free to join.
  • Eligibility requirements are easy, which means you can monetize your website or blog even when it's new.
  • There are a variety of ad options and several you can customize to fit the look and feel of your site.
  • Google pays monthly (if you meet the $100 threshold) by direct deposit.
  • You can run ads on several websites from one AdSense account.
  • There are options to run ads on mobile devices and RSS feeds.
  • You can easily add it to your YouTube and Blogger accounts.
With that said, there are a few drawbacks to AdSense as well:
  • Google can terminate your account in an instant, and it's not very forgiving if you break the rules.
  • Like all forms of online income, you need targeted traffic in order to make money.
  • When people click on an AdSense ad, you do make some money, but your visitor also leaves your site.
  • It doesn't necessarily pay more than other similar programs.
AdSense is a great monetization option, but it's not a get-rich-quick or make-money-doing-nothing option. Further, Google has a lot of rules that aren't always noticed upfront.
As a result, many website owners found out the hard way that they'd violated a Google policy, and have lost their account forever.

Types of AdSense Ads

Google offers a variety of ad types to run on your website, including:
  • Text: Text ads use words, either as an Ad Unit (one offer) or a Link Unit (list of offers), and come in a variety of sizes. You can customize the color of the box, text and link.
  • Images: Image ads are graphic ads. They come in a variety of sizes. You can choose an option that mixes both text and image ads.
  • Flash
  • Video
  • Rich media ads include HTML, Flash or other interactive feature.
  • Audio
  • AdSense for Search allows you to have a Google search box on your site. When a user enters a term and conducts a search, a search results page opens with AdSense ads. You can customize the color scheme of the search results page to harmonize with your web site.

Google AdSense Payments

Google pays monthly through direct deposit or check, but will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings reach or exceed $100. If you don't earn $100 in one month, your earnings roll over and are added to the next month. Each time you reach the $100 threshold, Google will issue a payment on the next payment period. Through your AdSense account, you can see your current earnings, what ads are generating the most clicks, and more.

Making Money with AdSense

Making a significant amount of money with AdSense requires a plan. Here are tips for maximizing AdSense revenue:
  • Read and adhere to Google's rules. Webmasters must comply with Google's webmaster policies as well as the AdSense program policy
  • Don't click on your own ads or ask others to click on them. Incentivizing clicks, buying Pay Per Click (PPC) space, or using a program designed to drive traffic to AdSense pages are against the rules. Remember, Google isn't very forgiving about breaking the rules, so be sure to adhere to them.
  • Have great content your target market wants to read. Ultimately, money is made, whether through AdSense or other monetization methods, by providing valuable content and quality traffic to your blog or website.
  • Use honest, organic traffic building website promotion techniques, especially search engine optimization and article marketing.
  • Test ad types and placement to find the options that lead to the most income.
  • Read email from Google, especially if it's sending a warning about something it doesn't like on your site. Failure to deal with Google's complaints will lead to termination of the program.

Dealing with Competitors' or Questionable Advertisements

If you offer products or services on your website, you may find that some ads Google delivers come from your competitors. Another issue that can occur is ads that may not be completely legitimate or they might offend your market.
To prevent these offers from showing up on your site, Google AdSense allows you to block up to 200 URLs from appearing on your site.
The challenge of this is two-fold.
  1. You don't know what ads are running on your site until you see them there. Plus, with each page load, and depending on the visitors browsing history, the ad may not show up again or it might appear in a different spot.
  2. Since you can't click on your own links (to the get the URL), you need to be careful about obtaining the URL to block. The best way to get the link so you can block it in AdSense is to right click the link, select "Copy Link Address," and paste it into a document or text editor (i.e. Notepad). The Google URL is really long, but you're looking for the section that identifies the advertiser. Copy that link, and paste into your AdSense blocked ads account.

Other Programs Besides AdSense

There are many ad network programs similar to AdSense, such as Media.net and InfoLinks. Some might require a traffic threshold, so you'd need to wait until your site established before being accepted. Most have similar rules to Google, such as a limit to the number of the network's ads per page (usually 3) and termination for clicking your own ads. In most cases, you can run different ad networks on your site without violating terms of service, but you'll want to read the rules of each network before doing it. Further, you want to avoid your site becoming so overwhelmed with ads that your readers can't find the content.

Other Income Options besides Ad Networks

Ad networks, especially AdSense, are great options because you can join as a new blogger or website owner, and are easy to use. But they're not the only ways to make money from your website. In fact, as your site traffic grows, other monetization options might be better. Here are some other money-making ideas you can use instead of, or along with, ad networks.
Affiliate Marketing: Like ad networks, affiliate programs are usually free to join and easy to add to your website.
Sell Your Own Product or Service: When you have a readership and social media following, you have an audience that trusts and likes you. As a result, they're more open to buying directly from you. Creating your own product or service, as opposed to promoting someone else through affiliate marketing, can earn you significantly more money. This is especially true with information products or online courses that are inexpensive to create and sell. Other options include ebooks and freelance services.
Coaching or Consulting: As an expert in your topic, you're in a good position to help people beyond the information you provide on your website/blog, to offer more in depth help through coaching or consulting.
Sponsors: When you have a good amount of traffic and terrific influence over your audience, other companies will pay to sponsor your website. They can sponsor your entire site, which would cost them more, or a single page. Some just have advertising.
As you can see, there are many ways to earn income from a website or blog. But many require that you have traffic and an audience that is paying attention to you before they make any money. This is where AdSense is a good beginning monetization option. You don't have to create anything, it's free to join, and it's easy to add the ad code to your website.

How to Manually Add Google AdSense in WordPress (In 3 Steps)

Before you add AdSense to WordPress, you will want to create a site backup in case something goes wrong during the process. Then, you can proceed to the first step.

Step 1: Sign Up for Google AdSense

The first thing you’ll need to do is create an account with Google AdSense. Once you are on the AdSense site, click the Sign Up Now button:
The first screen will list your current Gmail accounts and ask you to select the one you want to use, or prompt you to create a new account altogether. Once you’ve selected the account you want, you will be presented with the sign up form.
Fill in the information, accept the Terms and Conditions, and then click Create Account. While signing up only takes a few minutes, Google may take up to 3 days to approve your application, so you might need to wait a while.

Step 2: Create an AdSense Ad

Once your account is approved, you can start using Google AdSense in WordPress. Sign in to your new account, and access the AdSense dashboard:
Under My ads > Ad units, click on New ad unit. Now you will need to name your ad. We suggest something descriptive, so you can remember it and where it is placed on your site. This is especially important if you have multiple ads and/or sites.
Next, you will need to choose an ad size (be sure to select Responsive so the ad can display correctly on all devices), layout, and type:
Ad settings in AdSense Dashboard
The Backup Ads option tells Google what to do if there are no targeted ads available to display. You can use this to point to a specific URL, show the space as blank, or fill the space with a solid color:
AdSense generated code
Once you’ve edited your ad’s settings, click Save and Get Code. You will see a new window with the newly generated AdSense code. Copy this code and save it for the next step.

Step 3: Add AdSense to WordPress

Hopefully, you have saved the code generated in the previous step, as you will need to it to use Google AdSense in WordPress. Start by logging into your WordPress dashboard. Then go to Appearance > Widgets.
Create a new widget by selecting Text from Available Widgets, then dragging and dropping it where you want the ad to display. Generally, the sidebar is a good place to start, so you can see how it fits with the rest of your site without impeding your content:
Once the widget is in place, provide a title for it and then paste the code from the previous step into the content field. Once you are done, click on Save.
Preview your site to make sure your ad appears correctly. If the formatting is off for the area you chose, you can either go back to AdSense and edit the ad unit to fit your layout, or you can pick a different location for it by creating a new widget using the steps above.

How to Add AdSense to WordPress Using a Plugin

Ad Inserter Plugin
While manually installing Google AdSense in WordPress is a fairly straightforward process, you may be more comfortable using a plugin instead. There are plenty of them to choose from, so we recommend you research each option by reading through its reviews and ratings. For the purposes of this walkthough, however, we recommend Ad Inserter for its ease of use and feature set.
Just as with a manual installation, we recommend that you perform a site backup before adding this plugin. You will also need to have an active AdSense account. Follow the first two steps above to generate the code you will need, then install the Ad Inserter plugin.
Now, on every post or page you create, you will see the Ad Inserter menu. To get started, go to Settings and select Ad Inserter:
Add code to Ad Inserter to use Google AdSense in WordPress.
In the ad box, paste your AdSense Code. You will need to choose an option for automatically inserting ads (such as Before Post). Enable one or more page types you’d like your ads to appear on, then click Save.
For best results, you’ll want to take some time to review the most common Ad Inserter settings, to take full advantage of Google AdSense in WordPress. If you run into issues, such as your ads not displaying properly, you can also use Ad Inserter’s troubleshooting guide for assistance.

3 Ways to Monetize Your WordPress Blog

We’ve focused on using Google Adsense in WordPress as a means of monetizing your site or blog, because it is a very simple way to get started. However, if you are looking to boost your site’s income-generating power, there are several other methods you can and should look into.
Before trying any of these, we recommend you invest some time into building an email marketing list. This will create a foundation that you can use to ensure future income generation as you grow your site and its offerings.

1. Become an Affiliate Marketer

Affiliate marketing is a wildly popular method for generating income from your WordPress site. Simply put, it’s a way for you to earn a commission by promoting products for other people or businesses. There are numerous benefits of using this method to earn money:
  • Minimal upfront costs. Joining an affiliate program is free, and usually involves a short online registration process.
  • No stock or overhead to worry about. Since you are promoting someone else’s product, you don’t have to worry about carrying stock, processing orders, shipping items, or product support.
  • It can be done from almost anywhere. Because your marketing takes place online, you can generate and maintain your income from any location, as long as you have an internet connection.
While the concept is simple and getting started is fairly straightforward, affiliate marketing requires dedicated effort on your part to be successful, at least in the beginning. To get started, we recommend you spend some time reading through Neil Patel’s site, starting with his step-by-step guide.

2. Offer Online Courses

Marie Forleo’s online business courses are extremely popular.
If you are currently using your site to educate your readers, why not take it a step further and offer a full course at a set price? How you structure the course is up to you. You can offer it as a set of emails that they receive daily or weekly. Or, you can provide all of the lessons upfront so that users can work at their own pace.
Either way, some of the benefits of this method include that:
  • You are offering knowledge you already have. The effort involved will come from actually sitting down and creating the course, so there are minimal start up costs.
  • You can use it to build your email list. While your readers may not sign up for a newsletter, if they see something they can gain value from (like a full course on using social media or building a profitable business) they will be much more likely to part with their email information.
  • You can sell your courses to other sites to continue generating revenue. Sites such like Udemy and Skillshare enable you to build a course and sell it on their platform, earning you a commission each time someone takes the class.
If you decide to sell your online course through a site such as Skillshare or Udemy, you should also take a look at their affiliate programs. Participating in those as well could be a win/win for you. Not only will the website host your course, but you could generate affiliate income through their program on top of that.
If you’re looking for advice on how to get started, the Penny Hoarder offers a great resource on building an online course.  You can find plenty of other guides online for how to create a successful course.

3. Write an eBook

If you have specific expertise or something that you are passionate about, you may want to consider writing an ebook. Depending on your site’s current content, you may even have the beginnings of your ebook just waiting to be adapted. While the benefits of an ebook are similar to those of online courses, there is an added incentive that comes with establishing yourself as an authority on a topic. After all, is there anything more authoritative than being able to say you literally wrote the book on a topic?
In addition to selling your book on your site, you can also sell it other places online, such as Amazon. This is a smart idea because it can help generate more traffic for your site from larger and trustworthy platforms, especially if you start to garner positive reviews. In fact, the food blog Pinch of Yum jumpstarted their affiliate marketing efforts by first creating an ebook on food photography and selling it through Amazon, as well as on their site. As another example, ProBlogger Daren Rowse earned $72k in a week with his ebook. If you are interested in creating one yourself, you can use an online tutorial to help you get started.

Conclusion

It’s only natural that once you have created an online presence with WordPress, you will want to find a way to monetize it.
